Spread Some Friendship this Holiday!

November 7th, 2015 by Terra | No Comments | Filed in Drive Me Crazy

Drive me Crazy is technically a summer road trip book, but since it is also about being a good friend, for the holidays I wanted to share some extra friendship love to its readers, through my bookselling friends at Little Shop of Stories (in Decatur, GA) and Avid Bookshop (in Athens, GA).

From now through December 15th, if you purchase a copy of Drive Me Crazy from either bookstore, you will receive a set of friendship pins (made by me–one for you and one to share), and my autograph inside the book. Those who purchase from Avid will get their signature on a custom made, one-of-a-kind bookplate decorated with stickers from my own personal collection, and those who order from Little Shop of Stories will get a sticker on their signed book, as well as the option of a personalization (since I work there).

Both stores are willing to ship (for a small USPS fee.), and can take purchases over the phone. Links to each bookstore are above, but if you’d like to call, you can reach the marvellous booksellers at Avid at  706-352-2060. Little Shop of Stories’ number is 404-373-6300. And who knows? When you call Little Shop, I might even be the one to answer!

Thank you to both Avid and Little Shop for supporting me and Drive Me Crazy!

Thank You, Everyone, for a Great Release Party!!

Every book release is a thrilling one for me, but the launch party on Friday, May 1st at Little Shop of Stories was extremely special, as we were celebrating not only my middle grade debut, Drive Me Crazy, but also the first book in a fantastic chapter book series, Anna, Banana and the Friendship Split—written by my own best friend, Anica Mrose Rissi! (Anica also happens to be the editor of Drive Me Crazy, and five of my young adult books.) We made friendship pins, ate ice cream sandwiches, read from our new books, and talked about how important it is, having good friends, especially in the writing process!

I’m so grateful to everyone who was there, but especially Anica!

DRIVE ME CRAZY Pulls Into Town Soon!

On April 28th, in bookstores and libraries across the land, my brand-new, debut novel for middle grade and tween readers will finally be released, and I have to say I am SO EXCITED!!

Those of you who already know me through my young adult titles may be wondering, “Why middle grade, Terra?” Well my friend Julie  over at The Mixed up Files of Middle Grade Authors wanted to know the same thing:

After writing so many wonderful YA books, what made you decide to try middle-grade?

I’ve wanted to write middle grade for a long time, in part because books were especially vital to me during that phase of my life. I also thought switching things up a bit would help me continue to grow as a writer. Prior to now, all the stories I had in my head were aimed toward teenagers, but finally the right project came up at the right time!

You can hear me talk about the inspiration behind Drive Me Crazy and more at TWO upcoming events in May and June:

Bring a Friend Book Release Party!
Friday, May 1st * 6:30 PM
Little Shop of Stories * Decatur, GA

I’m always excited about a book release party at Little Shop of Stories, but this one is going to be EXTRA SPARKLY SPECIAL, because not only are we celebrating Drive Me Crazy, but we’re also celebrating the launch of my friend, writing collaborator, and editor Anica Rissi’s own adorable chapter book Anna, Banana, and the Friendship Split–the first in a terrific series for young readers.  We’ll share from our books, and talk about what it’s like to be both friends, and professional/creative partners. Treats will be served and books will be signed, and there may even be a completely fantastic friendship craft. Bring your best friend!

Drive Me Crazy Summer Sendoff Celebration
Saturday, June 13th * 6:30 PM
Avid Bookshop * Athens, GA

The folks at Avid Bookshop in Athens have been my fellow bookstore besties for a long time, so it’s fitting for me to take a road trip up, in order to share this friendship/road-trip tale. We’ll be making friendship pins and plotting our own dream road trips (plus I’ll sign some books), kicking off summer in the friendliest of ways!
