Sometimes You Need to go Nowhere

Sometimes You Need to go Nowhere

Life is so big, and beautiful, and glorious, and there’s so much to do in it (and so many ways to show our gratitude for how glorious it all is), that I have a hard time sitting down and appreciating it. And to be honest, even when we spontaneously accepted our friends’ invitation to join them at the Nowhere Else Festival out on the edge of the “Ohio Ocean,” I still went equipped with watercolors, things to read, and postcards to fill out and send encouraging folks to vote during this year’s elections.

But! I got to do it in the midst of a bunch of really happy, kind, creative, interesting people, on a beautiful permaculture farm (where I was reminded of the things we can all do now to be better to our planet), and on the way up and back enjoyed some great podcast listening, conversation cards, and gorgeous scenery with my husband. I had been so caught up in the norm that I didn’t know I needed this step outside of it. And I’m really glad I went.

It reminded me that sometimes, in order to step outside ourselves and receive, we just have to say yes to the odd invitation. The thing you’re not sure about.
You have to, sometimes, be willing to go nowhere you expected.

It’s like this in life, and in writing too I guess. For now, here’s the photos I took and want to share about the weekend. (Oh – and lineup of all the musicians at the bottom, too!)
